Weare, NH– Just after 3:00 p.m. on September 6, 2025, New Hampshire Fish and Game was contacted by New Hampshire State Police Dispatch. An individual had been involved in an OHRV crash in the town of Weare. The crash was in the Hopkinton-Everett Riding Area on the Bassett Mill Loop. Weare Police Department, Weare Fire Rescue, Dunbarton Police, and Dunbarton Fire Department responded to the crash.
Due to the remote location of the crash, Weare Police Department, Weare Fire Rescue, Dunbarton Police, and Dunbarton Fire Department worked together to locate and extricate the patient quickly. A Conservation Officer investigated the crash, identifying 19-year-old Wesley Olmeda Baez as the operator. While operating his ATV on the Bassett Mill Loop, Olmeda Baez was ejected from his ATV resulting in serious bodily injuries. At this time, it appears that unreasonable speed was the primary cause of the crash. Olmeda Baez was transported by Weare Fire Rescue to Concord Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
New Hampshire Fish and Game reminds OHRV operators to operate with care while enjoying New Hampshire’s’ riding opportunities. Operate at a reasonable speed for existing conditions.
