Transportation & Safety Attendant

Transportation and Safety Attendants operate various types of motor vehicles such as shuttle buses, automobiles, vans, light trucks, or golf carts and conduct both interior and exterior fire and life safety patrols.

Within the Southern Nevada State Veterans Home, and under the direction of the Transportation and Safety Attendant Supervisor, the Transportation and Safety Attendant acts as the department’s safety officer and is responsible to enforce laws, rules and regulations as they relate to State law and agency safety and security policies to promote effective security operations for the protection of people, property and the facility; transportation of residents to outings and physician appointments which involve the use of a shuttle bus, van or car. Additional duties include assisting residents during activities, and appointments. Actively participates in assisting residents, staff, and visitors to include tours of the facility, answers the main telephone line for the facility and directs incoming calls to the appropriate department; performs preventive maintenance and inspections of the facility and vehicles as specified by department policies. Conduct routine rounds of facility during assigned shift.
