PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
This is to inform the public that a public hearing will be held on the proposed FY2028 UGA Community Transportation Program Application to be submitted to the North Carolina Department of Transportation no later than October 2, 2026 The public hearing will be held on September 08 at 6:30pm before the (governing board) Avery County Board of Commissioners.
Those interested in attending the public hearing and needing either auxiliary aids and services under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) or a language translator should contact Avery County Transportation on or before September 1st, at telephone number 828-733-0005 or via email at avery.act.dispatch@averycountync.gov .
The Community Transportation Program provides assistance to coordinate existing transportation programs operating in Avery County as well as provides transportation options and services for the communities within this service area. These services are currently provided using Avery County Transportation provides services with 5 Ford Transit Lift vans, 2 Ford Transit Passenger vans, 4 Minivan crossovers and 1 ADA ramp equipped mini-van. Services are rendered by Avery County Transportation.
The total estimated amount requested for the period July 1, 2027 through June 30, 2028.
NOTE: Local share amount is subject to State funding availability.
