Howard County Department of Public Works and Office of Transportation to Host Community Outreach Meeting on Clarksville Transportation Proje...

With regard to the Clarksville Streetscape, DPW and OoT are currently in the process of advancing the County’s “Clarksville Pike Streetscape Plan and Design Guidelines” to develop plans for a system of shared use pathways, sidewalks, crosswalks, and bike lanes along this stretch of roadway in Clarksville. Whereas the MD 32 Alternate Bike Route Pinch Point 6 project will provide a viable and safe bicycle route and associated infrastructure improvements along Ten Oaks Road, which was identified as a replacement bicycle route for the MD 32 corridor. Coupled with proposed and existing streetscape projects to be built by private sector development projects, these two projects aim to connect and link the commercial and residential uses along the MD 108 corridor.

Both the Clarksville Streetscape and MD 32 Alternate Bike Route Pinch Point 6 projects are currently in the design phase.

While there will be no formal presentation, the meeting will include a display of the design plans and County staff will be on hand to explain the proposed work, answer any questions, and gather public comments.

Those unable to attend the meeting who would like to view the plans and/or have questions, should contact Caitlin Kovel with DPW’s Transportation and Special Projects Division at 410-313-6142 or email ckovel@howardcountymd.gov. After the meeting, the meeting materials will be available on OoT’s “Clarksville-River Hill Streetscape Improvements” website. From the same site, community members will also be able to complete an online survey to share their thoughts and feedback with the County on these two projects.
